The shocking thing is that Polyvore simply
sold us and our work. All sets of us are automatically linked to the new page
(old, linked companys are no longer available !!) This means that our
creativity will simply be free of charge for the new away site! I will do the
job very well and delete all existing split sets on Pinterest, Facebook, tumblr
and co !! Therefore, I hereby expressly UNDERSTAND I am not prepared to
advertise for SSence gratuitously !!!!!!!
Polyvorians could fight back!!!!!!

letter to companys we promote
I am writing you today to inform you of
what has taken place after Ssense's acquisition of the company Polyvore,
through Oath, Inc, a Verizon subsidiary. After Ssense purchased Polyvore, the
website was shut down, with little warning to the Polyvore community. We no
longer had any access to our accounts and were given a vague option and warning
that we could opt out of sharing our information with Ssense. While our
community was still reeling from our sudden loss, we started to realize that
Ssense had absorbed Polyvore's Facebook account and with it, all of its likes.
We then began to search on other platforms, and discovered that they had also absorbed
Polyvore's Pinterest account, and with it all of the sets pinned to its board.
The board we saw had close to 20,000 sets, all of which would have contained
links to your merchandise. Those sets include individual items saved by the
Polyvore community using the clipper tool from Polyvore's website. The clipper
tool allowed us to upload any image, on most websites directly to Polyvore's
item database, to be used in any set by millions of users, over the course of
11 years. All of these links led people back to the Polyvore website, and were
linked back to the original website from there. Now that Ssense has taken over
the Polyvore domain, all of those links redirect straight to Ssense's homepage.
We believe this may have been one of their motives for purchasing the site and
shutting it down without notice to its users. We are heartbroken that the
companies we have loved, admired and supported for 11 years are having their
website traffic, ad revenue and potential customers led away from them in this
manner. We wanted to write to you, so that you would be aware that your images
are being used by a competitor for financial gain.
All Our Love,
The Polyvore Community
Great post! What PV did to us was terrible! I've thought the same thing, they now have all our product images as well as sets and can do with them what they want!
